Colposcopy Treatment
Description
Colposcopy – Advanced Cervical Examination for Early Detection and Women’s Health
A colposcopy is a specialized diagnostic procedure used to closely examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for abnormal changes. It is commonly recommended after an abnormal Pap smear test, positive HPV test, or when there are symptoms that require further evaluation. Early detection of cervical abnormalities allows timely treatment and helps prevent the development of cervical cancer.
At NestCare Mother & Child Healthcare, we provide safe and comfortable colposcopy evaluation with compassionate care, ensuring women receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate guidance for their reproductive health.
When is Colposcopy Recommended?
Abnormal Pap smear results
Positive Human Papillomavirus (HPV) test
Unusual changes detected during a pelvic examination
Abnormal vaginal bleeding, especially after intercourse
Persistent unusual vaginal discharge
Suspected cervical, vaginal, or vulvar abnormalities
Follow-up of previously treated cervical changes
What Happens During a Colposcopy?
A specialized instrument called a colposcope is used to magnify and examine the cervix.
A gentle solution may be applied to highlight abnormal areas.
If required, a small tissue sample (biopsy) may be taken for further laboratory analysis.
The procedure is usually performed as an outpatient examination and generally takes about 10–20 minutes.

Our gynecology specialists provide detailed counseling before the procedure, perform careful examination, and explain the findings and further treatment options if required. We focus on patient comfort, privacy, and accurate diagnosis throughout the process.
